Trump's invasion of Iran is not going well. The defeat of the invasion would mean a step forward for workers everywhere, and the first step towards liberation from tyranny in Iran as well. From all around the world, we must join the struggle and fight to stop the US-Israel war machine

Far from being a personal whim of Trump's or a trap set by the Mossad, the US-Israel war on Iran is the logical conclusion of decades of imperialist policy, with bipartisan and European approval backing it up.

Ankara’s capitalist rationality identifies not Israel’s presence in the region, but rather Iran’s “game-changing” moves as the primary threat. The Turkish Bonapartist regime, confined in Syria to merely blocking the Kurdish corridor, is condemned to a similar “buffer” role in the Iran-Israel tension. This predicament—caught between protecting Iran’s gas flows (its economic lifeline) and serving as the West’s forward outpost (Kürecik, etc.)—highlights the vast gulf between the appetite for “sub-imperialist expansionism” and real power.

For the Iranian people to be able to choose their destiny, Trump’s offensive must first be defeated. History demonstrates—from the partisans of Yugoslavia to the revolutionaries of China, and including the lesson of the MEK’s failure when Iraq invaded Iran, and the crimes committed by the recent U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan—that the working class can only advance if it joins the struggle against the invader.

The struggle by JBS workers in Greeley extends beyond the shop floor. The fightback to block the rollout of Palantir’s FDP is well and truly on across England. Health workers have been spearheading the campaign with significant support from health justice groups and Palestine solidarity groups. Last year, the BMA (the doctor’s union) passed a motion rejecting the FDP and resolved to lobby relevant NHS bodies to terminate the contract. The union is currently developing guidance for members on when and how to refuse to use the FDP without compromising patient safety while at work. This is with the view to move ‘away from the platform entirely’ when a suitable alternative has been developed.
