With more than 1,5 million people at Tahrir Square, this tuesday 09, the movement coordination launched a Manifesto and promised a rally to the Palace on friday. Read bellow the Manifesto as translated by Luis Gustavo Porfirio, our special correspondent in Cairo.
Why we are still here and won’t come back home.
1- Constitution has not been revised.
2- Parliament has not been dissolved.
3- Pillagers and criminals who murdered our brothers in Tahrir Square have not yet been judged and are still unpunished.
4- There is a rampant corruption and many corrupt officials yet.
5- The government is still the same. And in government there are many corrupt rulers such as the Minister of Communications, Radio and TV; Minister of Labor and Immigration; Minister of Oil and Minister for Foreign Affairs.
6- There are still political prisoners in jail.
7- Emergency Law and curfew are still in force.
8- There is no freedom for political parties. The corrupt leaders of current parties are still the same.
9- There is no minimum wage in the country yet.
We know it’s been promised that government would meet all the demands, and would take some time to do so. But who will guarantee it?
Our only warranty is to stay here and be strong until all our demands are accomplished. We have to do it, because those who are driving the revolution only halfway are digging their own graves.
The regime won’t listen, understand or negotiate with us.
The regime is playing with us.
Our demands are clear now.
