The police used rubber bullets and tear gas.
The “Rio Santiago” shipyards is a state-owned company that currently belongs to the “Buenos Aires” province. Founded in 1953, it was the largest ship manufactorer in Latin America.
Currently it hires around 3,300 metalworkers.
Argentinian authorities want to close it and dismiss all workers. Government and working people are on opposite sides in the battle for the shipyards.
