Issue 17 of International Courier Launched

The 17th issue of the International Courier magazine has just been launched, dedicated to the 100 years of the Russian Revolution. The issue was already published in Portuguese and Spanish, and will also be launched in French, soon. This release is part of the campaign the IWL-FI will be developing throughout the year, which will culminate in several activities in November.
The magazine approaches that great revolution with two criteria. The first is the assertion of its lessons, particularly the strategy of the seizure of power by the working class and the people, to destroy the bourgeois State and build a new type of State – that boosts the socialist revolution. The second criterion is the debate with the majority of the international left-wing, that abandoned such strategy and, therefore, the “Lessons of October”.
Thus, in many polemic articles we debate aspects such as the necessity of the revolution, the social base that must feature it (with the industrial working class at the head,) the crisis of the bourgeois democracy, the Soviet democracy, the Leninist-party model, the military questions in the seizure of power and the defense of the new regime, the necessity of an international revolutionary organization, the revolution and the liberation of women and, finally, the balance of the nefarious Stalinist bureaucratization and its politics.
As observed in the magazine, “We increasingly assert the lessons of the Russian Revolution. And we believe that the revolutionaries’ main task is to present them clearly to the masses, to assist in the way of the revolution.” We hope this issue is helpful to that task.
