This murder sparked people’s protests against the killing of innocent men by both the army and the police.

Public opinion pool carried out on Thursday, April 11, show that 51% of Brazilian people are afraid of the police.
Among the Black youth, they are 60%. Among women 55%.
The well-off white men are the only section of the people who trust the police.
The same inquiry showed that the 81% of the Brazilians oppose “shoot first, check after” policy which is supported by far-right President Jair Bolsonaro for police forces.
