In February 4, 1982 they kidnapped and murdered the socialist activist Ana Maria Martinez.
This murder got the headlines and was the last killing of activists during the military dictatorship which lasted from 1976 to 1982.
Ana Maria was a metalworker and a member of the Socialist Workers’ Party.
Originally from Mar del Plata, she was living at Villa de Mayo in Buenos Aires Province.
She was 31 years old and she was pregnant for 3 months when she was murdered.
Another murderer, Fabian Fernandez Garello is still free.
During the dictatorship more than one hundred members of the Socialist Workers’ Party were killed by intelligence services.
After the demise of the dictatorship, the administrations of both Raul Alfonsin and Carlos Menen protected the perpetrators of around 30 thousand murders carried out by the dictatorship agents.
Thanks to the Argentinian Revolution of 2001 known as Argentinazo, the protection for the murderers was withdrawn and they were sent to trial. Among them the dictator Jorge Rafael Videla.
On December 11, 2018 two managers of American automaker Ford were sentenced to 10 and 12 years’ imprisonment for collaboration with the dictatorship in arresting and torturing 24 union activists at Ford plant in “General Pacheco” in 1976. These managers appointed the activists to the dictatorship agents.
For CSP-Conlutas, all dictatorship murderers should be put on trial and strongly punished for their crimes against the working people.
