Seven thousand workers held a rally in front of the Senate against the bill to create the “Superintendencia de Jubilizaciones y Pensiones” (a kind of Agency in charge of pensions).
The bill would enable the government to allocate money from the pension system to other areas of the public budget.
The Senate rejected the bill. Now Paraguayan authorities want to restart parliamentary proceedings towards passing the bill in the Parliament Lower House.
