Last months have been signed by an intense debate among the left-wing about the Syrian revolution and, specifically, on the stand regarding the massacre carried out by the forces which support the regime of the dictator, Bashar al-Assad. Sadly, the debate was not limited to the ideas; on the contrary, those who support the fair struggle of the Syrian people have been suffering unjustified affronts, intimations and threats, mainly on social networks.By Corriente Roja.
These affronts and threats were specifically cruel to female comrades and were carried out by anonymous individuals as much as by some known members of several organizations which claim to be leftists but expose in a sad way the reigning male-chauvinism.
We face again methods that have nothing to do with the tradition of the working movement on how to deal with differences within. Such is the hideous Stalinist tradition.
These people now intimidating and threatening are the same that since the beginning of the Syrian revolution supported Assad, when the situation was a popular rebellion dealing with the murder of thousands of pacific protesters which opened the way to a bloody offensive that lasts until the present.
They are the same who embellish and encourage a terrorist regime like Assad’s, alleging a difference between the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ bloody dictatorships in name of geopolitics. They are the same who support the criminal intervention of Putin’s aviation, of troops of the theocratic dictatorship of the Ayatollahs and fundamentalist Shiite foreign militias against the Syrian people.
They are also the same who amalgamate the rebels with Fascist Jihadism of ISIS or Al-Qaeda and, at the same time, make a front with the European ultra right-wing and Fascism by supporting Assad, Putin and the Ayatollahs.
For a long time, if there was a characteristic feature of the left-wing it was precisely the support of people raising against dictatorships. Now, we face a left-wing capable of justifying the massacre of a people under geopolitical considerations, and which does not hesitate in using methods of Stalinist tradition, alien to the workers’ movement, to fight those who think differently. This ‘left-wing’ is marked for the future.
We want to express our total support to the comrades intimidated and threatened, especially our female comrades. We demand the end of these intimidations and insults and state clearly we will not be silenced.
