The issue 16 of the International Courier magazine has been launched, dedicated to the situation in the U.S. after the election of Donald Trump as president of the country. This issue has been also published in English, in addition to the traditional Spanish and Portuguese versions.
The opening article analyzes the reasons behind the electoral result on the base of the central socio-economic and political processes of last years and approaches the debate with most part of the left-wing that considers it as a result of a “reactionary turn” around the world, that will now deepen. Other articles make a balance of Obama’s terms and analyze the deep reasons of the imperialist policy we call “democratic reaction”.
There are also articles of the Marxist British economist Michael Roberts on the economic situation of the country and the deep contradictions of Trump’s proposals during the electoral campaign.
There is a section of the magazine dedicated to analyze the situation of several segments of the mass movement (labor movement, Latinos, Black and women), their struggles’ perspectives and some proposals to encourage these struggles.
Lastly, we include an opinion article on the structural causes of the phenomena we have called “imperialist nationalism”, politically growing in Europe and the U.S.
