Down with U.S. aggression against Venezuela!
We completely reject the imperialist attacks on Venezuela. Venezuelan workers should decide their country's future!
US imperialism has bombed Venezuela and kidnapped its president, Nicolas Maduro. This is a serious act of war, which, if left unanswered, opens up the possibility of this happening in any country in Latin America. Today Venezuela, tomorrow it could be Colombia, then Cuba…
Trump’s objective has nothing to do with ‘the fight against drug trafficking,’ as he claims. Trump’s pardon of Juan Orlando Hernández, former president of Honduras sentenced to 45 years in prison in the US for drug trafficking, proves that this is a farce.
The Trump administration’s National Security Strategy document explicitly states its objective of having puppet governments in Latin America. Pro-imperialist governments that implement neoliberal plans are no longer enough. They want far-right governments that are completely subservient to Trump. To that end, they are even exerting economic and political pressure to influence elections. They have made progress with Milei, Kast, Bukele, Asfura, and they want more with Uribism in Colombia. And now, through military invasion, they have deposed Maduro. The goal is to steal Venezuelan resources and impose an imperialist puppet government, headed by someone such as María Corina Machado. Trump has just declared that the US ‘will run Venezuela’.
Trump’s attack on Venezuela will also be combined with new attacks on immigrants and other North American workers.
That is why we are calling for a broad united campaign with all those who are against imperialism’s military aggression against Venezuela and Latin America. Let’s take to the streets in the United States and around the world to protest against Trump and revive anti-imperialist consciousness.
No confidence in Maduro
Fighting against Trump’s military aggression does not mean giving political support to Maduro. His government is not anti-imperialist, much less socialist. It is a capitalist dictatorship that implements plans against the working people, a government of doublespeak and false socialism. Today, the minimum wage is less than one dollar per month. Labor and trade union rights have been violated as part of Maduro’s pro-employer and anti-worker austerity policy. Maduro has offered to hand over Venezuela’s oil and minerals to Trump in exchange for remaining in power. All of this only weakens the defence of the people and workers against US aggression.
But it is the Venezuelan workers and people who must decide what to do with Maduro, not imperialism. Trump’s attacks and his plan for Venezuela will only aggravate the situation of working people. They will not bring democracy or improve the situation of workers, but rather it will bring more repression and more misery.
To fight against imperialism, it is important to demand that the Chavista regime hand over weapons to the workers and expropriate US companies in Venezuela.
We must fight against US imperialism!
We call for the broadest unity of political and military action within Venezuela, including with the Maduro government and its supporters, to fight against imperialist aggression!
We call on the workers and peoples of the United States and Latin America to unite and mobilize against imperialist aggression. We call on all organizations of the mass movement and political parties to join in actions around the world against Trump, the invasion of Venezuela and the kidnapping of Maduro. We must defend Venezuela and secure the defeat of Yankee imperialism
Latin American governments must confront Trump! Lula, Petro, Sheinbaum—who say they reject Trump’s intervention—must call for days of mobilization and provide military support against Yankee aggression!
No to the invasion of Venezuela! For the defeat of imperialism and the victory of Venezuela!
Arms for the workers! Full freedom to mobilize against imperialism in Venezuela!
Everyone to the streets against imperialism!
Trump and US imperialism out of Latin America and the Caribbean!
