Workers’ Party Paraguay Statement

Workers' Party (Paraguay)

November 8, 2026

OUT WITH THEM ALL. THE “ARRANGEMENT” UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF HONOR COLORADO IS JUST MORE OF THE SAME. NEW ELECTIONS FOR A DEMOCRATIC AND SOVEREIGN CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY.

PRISON, CONFISCATION OF PROPERTY, AND RECOVERY OF WHAT WAS STOLEN FROM THE WORKING PEOPLE

  • Peña’s resignation is a completely insufficient step. They’re trying to grant him immunity so he won’t have to pay for the looting he committed, which allows the Colorado Party, under Cartes’s leadership, to maintain control and steer the situation. Peña and Alliana are guilty and must be imprisoned.
  • Alliana, Bachi, and Latorre, under the leadership of Cartes and Honor Colorado, are politically responsible for this monumental plunder. Don’t claim you were deceived by Santi or the Paraguayan Central Bank. They must pay for their crimes. No forgetting, no forgiveness, no impunity. Everyone must go! New elections and a Democratic and Sovereign Constituent Assembly!
  • The thieves who owned Ueno Bank are already in prison, and their assets must be seized to ensure that at least some of the working people’s money is returned. Those who headed all the affiliated companies must be imprisoned and their assets confiscated.
  • The assets of the entire Board of Directors of the Central Bank, as well as those of the members of the IPS Council—led by Britez—should be seized, and legal proceedings should be initiated against them. Furthermore, they must be imprisoned and return what they have stolen.
  • We demand that SEPRELAD and the Attorney General’s Office—which have thus far been sidelined and subjected to the power of the Colorado Party—regularly publish updates on the investigation and monitoring of “the working people’s money,” because there is no other way but to RECOVER WHAT WAS STOLEN through the confiscation of the assets of those directly responsible and their accomplices.
  • The working people—together with the IPS (Insured Persons Association), the Trade Union and Social Front, teachers, Sitrande, and other organizations, with young people leading the way—must continue to mobilize around the slogans and demands mentioned above. Only if the mobilizations continue will there be progress; otherwise… everything will come to nothing and it will just be more of the same.
  • Let’s continue to strengthen the Workers’ Party. It is increasingly urgent that political parties and movements loyal to the interests of working people grow, so that it is not the bourgeoisie and their parties who “work things out” among themselves. Socialism or Barbarism.
