The Comrades of the International Workers’ League – Fourth International – who publish the  <\/SPAN>Presse Internationale, decided to constitute as Ligue Communiste des Travailleurs \/Communistesche Werkersbond (Workers’ Communist League) as a first step towards becoming a section of the IWL-FI (of which only the International Executive Committee is statutorily entitled to admit new national sections).<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

We still obviously aim at the same target announced in every issue of the Presse Internationale: “to build a revolutionary party in our class following the pattern<\/I> set by Lenin, taking the only realist alternative to capitalist exploitation and misery  <\/SPAN>generated by imperialism as our programme: to put an end to the bourgeois domination by means of the seizure of power by the workers”.<\/o:p><\/I><\/SPAN><\/P>

The first issue of Press Internationale was published ten years ago. Since that time, our team of IWL-FI comrades accr<\/st1:PersonName>ued. On our tiny scope we have been participating in the great struggles of our class in Belgium<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and in the world and there we defended the programme of the IWL-FI. A few months ago we started a more specific study and we worked out a programme for Belgium<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>. And on 11th<\/SUP> November 2006, we held the foundational Conference of the WCL with the participation of comrades from other sections and militants who do not belong to our organisation but have been accompanying us in our interventions in class struggle.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Conference appointed an Honour Presidency:<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

– Nahuel Moreno, founder of the International Workers’ League – Fourth International;<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

– Semira Adamo, a “paperless” Nigerian, murdered by the Belgian police in 1998 during her deportation, symbol of the struggle of the paperless;<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

– Leon Lesoil and Abraham Leon, killed in the Gestapo concentration camps transforming the heroic resistance against the nazi occupation into a revolutionary combat in Belgium<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\n

We have received enthusiastic support from different IWL-FI sections and we wish to end this presentation of the Workers’ Communist League by quoting from the greetings sent by the International Secr<\/st1:PersonName>etariat to our Foundation Conference:<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

“We are very proud of the foundation of a new section in Europe, in an imperialist country, Belgium<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>. In the first place this is due to the strategic importance of this continent and its proletariat, one of the most concentrated and possessing the greatest fighting spirit in the world, heir to the first Marxist tradition.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/I><\/P>

Secondly, because – in spite of being still a small foundational group – you are building according to the method of dealing very seriously with two central tasks at this stage of a Trotskyist and Morenist group. The first one is to work out a national programme to sum up our proposals for the workers and allow our intervention among the toiling masses. The second one is the search of a point of insertion in the mass movement that is, in your case, the sector of immigrant and paperless workers, who have been acting as the advance guard in Belgium and in Europe.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/I><\/P>

Last but not least, because ever since its origin your project and reference has been a conscious part of the reconstruction of the IV International and the IWL_FI, acting in cooperation with the sections of Europe<\/st1:place> and all the International.”<\/SPAN><\/I> <\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
