{"id":67102,"date":"2022-03-14T18:41:23","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T18:41:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/?p=67102"},"modified":"2022-03-14T18:41:23","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T18:41:23","slug":"interview-with-ukrainian-miners-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/interview-with-ukrainian-miners-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Interview with Ukrainian miner\u2019s leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Interview with\u00a0<strong>Yuri Petrovich Samoilov<\/strong>\u00a0, Chairman of the Krivoy Rog Independent Miners\u2019 Union, Dniepropetrovsk region, Ukraine.<\/em><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>1 \u2013 What is your evaluation of the events at Maidan 2014?\u00a0Why did Putin\u2019s aggression begin after those events?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Maidan was a popular uprising against a corrupt and authoritarian government that had not kept its promises to the people.\u00a0It had a clear subordination to Russian imperialism, on which Ukraine depended in part.\u00a0The reasons for Russia\u2019s aggression are obvious: the Putin government seeks economic and political control over the countries, which it considers its \u201csphere of influence.\u201d\u00a0And the Maidan \u201cmade the cross\u201d to any project of a Ukraine controlled by Russia.<br \/>\n<strong>2- What was the situation of the workers after the occupation in the so-called Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk?\u00a0Do you know how things are today in the Donbass?<\/strong><br \/>\nDeplorable! The Russian security forces eliminated any independent entity: socially oriented NGOs, political projects, trade unions. Coupled with the total collapse of the region\u2019s economy, global isolation and reorientation towards Russia, the workers were left in a completely helpless position, under threat of strong repression and heavy losses of previous economic gains.<br \/>\n<strong>3 \u2013 What is the situation of the workers in the midst of the conflict?\u00a0(In general, in Ukraine and in its region)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn big cities like Kyiv, Kharkov, Mariupol, Kherson, Zhytomyr, it is impossible to buy medicines in pharmacies, many companies have stopped working.\u00a0Many supermarkets do not work, service stations, gas stations and post offices are very difficult to operate, because transport logistics are interrupted due to the partial blockade of these cities.\u00a0Many workers are unemployed because their workplaces have been physically destroyed by the war.\u00a0And many more have lost their jobs due to the forced exodus from their cities as a result of the war.<br \/>\n<strong>4 \u2013 What is the participation of the Ukrainian workers in the resistance to the Russian occupation?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe workers actively participate in the war for the independence of Ukraine against Russian imperialism.\u00a0The unions host refugees at their headquarters, participate in the Territorial Defense Brigades and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<br \/>\n<strong>5 \u2013 Do the unions participate in the organization of the resistance?\u00a0What type of organization is there?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe unions mainly participate as volunteers in the activities.\u00a0The existence of international contacts allows us to quickly detect which of our colleagues has a misfortune or what kind of problem and collectively we can find ways to permanently solve or temporarily correct those needs.<br \/>\n<strong>6 \u2013 How can workers from other countries help the resistance?<\/strong><br \/>\nDemand the cancellation of the payment of the unjust and enslaving Ukrainian debt.\u00a0Demand the supply of aviation and weapons to Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interview with\u00a0Yuri Petrovich Samoilov\u00a0, Chairman of the Krivoy Rog Independent Miners\u2019 Union, Dniepropetrovsk region, Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":70820,"menu_order":100,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"litci_post_political_author":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3553,3935],"tags":[4009,4016],"class_list":["post-67102","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-russia","category-ukraine","tag-putinoutofukraine","tag-solidaritywithukraine"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
