She is a<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> leader of the MIT, of <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Defensa Popular<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Popular Defence<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">)<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and candidate for <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> Constituent for District 8 (on the People\u2019s List). The lawsuit was filed by Carabineros<a class=\"sdendnoteanc\" href=\"#sdendnote1sym\" name=\"sdendnote1anc\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> officers, for openly <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">demanding<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> the troops of the repressive forces to stop massacring our people.<\/span><\/em><br \/>\nBy MIT &#8211; Movimiento Internacional de Trabajadores<br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">We reject the Carabineros\u2019 and the judiciary\u2019<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">s<\/span> <span lang=\"en-US\">suit<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Carabineros <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">are<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> one of the most <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">contested<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> institutions by the Chilean people and ha<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ve<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> no legitimacy to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">make <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">judicial or other actions against social activists. We also know that Justice is at the service of the families that own this country and the foreign capitalists. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">T<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">hat is why <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">they<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> condemn and persecute the activists and let <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">go<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> free the Carabineros <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">and military<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> murderers and the corrupt rich who exploit the workers and plunge the people into misery and the contagion of Covid.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">This attack against our comrade and our organisation comes in the context of the persecution and imprisonment of <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">protesters<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> who do not accept to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">bow <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">down<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and continue to fight for real social transformations. Since the signing of the Peace <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Agreement<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> we have <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">exposed<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> the undemocratic <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ongoing <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Constituent Process, because elections are being held <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">while <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">there are hundreds of political prisoners, thousands of persecuted people and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Carabineros continue to kill workers and young people in the streets of the country.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">Since the beginning of this <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">r<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">evolution, our organisation made a legitimate call to the Carabineros and Armed Forces troops not to attack and massacre their own people. We reaffirm this call to all Carabineros and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">military<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> troops: do not obey your corrupt officers to massacre your own people!<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">We also reaffirm that our comrade and our organisation will not be silenced!<br \/>\nWe call on all social and human rights organisations, fighters, collectives, independent candidates and those who are in favour of the struggle to stand in solidarity with our comrade.<br \/>\nFrom now on we will start a national and international campaign in defence of our comrade!
