{"id":13193,"date":"2019-09-22T13:59:32","date_gmt":"2019-09-22T13:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/?p=13193"},"modified":"2022-10-04T16:11:26","modified_gmt":"2022-10-04T16:11:26","slug":"debate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/debate\/","title":{"rendered":"Debate: Marxism and Environmental Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MARXISM AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS | The International Workers&#8217; League (Fourth International), LIT-QI, will promote, on September 27th, a debate entitled <strong><em>\u201cMarxism and Environmental Crisis&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>, as part of the global mobilization week, called Global Climate Strike.<\/p>\n<p>The climate crisis is undeniable and its drastic consequences can be seen and felt everywhere, so it is crucial to discuss how it can be stopped.<\/p>\n<p>The panel will be presented by Osmarino Am\u00e2ncio, a leader of rubber tappers in the state of Acre, in the Amazon area, and a resident in the \u201cChico Mendes\u201d Extractive Reserve. Since his childhood, Osmarino has lived under the exploitation imposed on rubber tappers and witnessed the beginning of the invasion and destruction of the lands by large landowners and its consequences in the forest.
