Neither Guaido nor Maduro, For a Workers&#8217; Alternative!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Last Saturday, May 6, 2019, Venezuelan working people held 358 rallies across the nation against both Maduro-led Bolivarian regime and the lack of safe water and energy.<\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>CSP-Conlutas Media Workgroup<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The main demonstration ended in front of Corpoelec, the state-owned electricity corporation in Caracas.<\/p>\n<p>At the same day, president Nicolas Maduro held a rally in front of Miraflores Palace. Previously he took preliminary steps to outlaw the US-backed and self-proclaimed president Juan Guaido and called paramilitary groups called &#8220;Colectivos&#8221; to strike the opposition rallies. These &#8220;colectivos&#8221; were renamed &#8220;Peace Squads&#8221; and allowed to carry weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The main victims are the working people who have been living in poverty. Inflation rates reached 1,370,000% in one year (2018) and the GDP is expected to decrease 25% in 2019. Since 2013 the GDP has decreased 60%, twice the 1929-1934 depression in America.<\/p>\n<p>CSP-Conlutas opposes both US-backed Juan Guaido and Maduro&#8217;s regime.
