{"id":10943,"date":"2018-12-04T15:18:14","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T15:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/?p=10943"},"modified":"2018-12-04T15:18:14","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T15:18:14","slug":"migrants-caravan-under-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/litci.org\/en\/migrants-caravan-under-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Migrants\u2019 Caravan Under Attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five thousand migrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador are in Tijuana on the Mexican-American border.<br \/>\nCSP-Conlutas Midia Workgroup<br \/>\nThey are seeking asylum in America, fleeing from poverty, violence and political persecution in their countries.<br \/>\nThey are crowded in Tijuana Stadium where there are long lines for food and bathroom.<br \/>\nPresident Donald Trump is playing a demagoguery card strongly opposing the migrants.<br \/>\nLess than 100 asylum claims are processed per day.<br \/>\nHe even allowed patrol border agents to use lethal force to stop the migrants despite of the fact secretary Jim Mattis announced that border agents are not carrying guns.<br \/>\nOn November 21, 2018, a federal judge in California struck down a presidential proclamation preventing migrants who cross illegally from making asylum claims.<br \/>\nOn Sunday, November 25, 2018, a peaceful 300-migrants\u2019 demonstration was attacked with tear gas by patrol border agents and the San Ysidro border between Tijuana (Mexico) and San Diego (USA) was closed for around 6 hours for both vehicles and pedestrians.<br \/>\nTrump counts on recently elected Mexican president Lopez Obrador whose inauguration will be on December 1, 2018 to stop the migrants in Mexico.<br \/>\nThat is not easy task as any agreement with president Trump will be regarded as a betrayal by Mexican workers.<br \/>\nEven so, Mexican authorities are already working with Trump.<br \/>\n39 migrants were arrested and might be deported by Mexican police on charges of illegal entrance into the United States.<br \/>\nMexican government announced the program REMAIN IN MEXICO to persuade migrants not to go to Tijuana. Since October 19, 2018 1,906 migrants decided to return to their countries.<br \/>\nFor CSP-Conlutas, America is responsible for the hardness in Central America as American corporations controls their economies and imposed one dictatorship after the other in the area.
