\nThey want better wages and bonuses.
\nCurrently a worker makes 60 \u201cbol\u00edvares\u201d per day (nearly US$ 1) for weekly shifts from Monday to Friday from 7am till 3h30pm.
\nThe bonus will be between 3,000 to 4,000 \u201cbolivares\u201d (US$ 40 to 60).
\nThat is not enough for any worker to provide for their families.
\nMany other sectors of the working class are taking action for the same reason.
\nPoverty is wide spread in Venezuela and around 4 million people abandoned the country.
\nOn September 1, 2018 the national minimum wage was set to 1800 \u201cbolivares\u201d (US$ 25) per month.
\nOn November 11, 2018 president \u201cNicolas Maduro\u201d announced a new bill to set the national minimum wage as the standard for all worker\u2019s contracts, both public and private sector.
\nThe labor leader \u201cOrlando Chirino\u201d denounced that this bill is meant to lower wages.
