Shameful agreement about trade union representation: we refuse to sign it!

June 23, 25 and 26, will have camps against that shameful agreement! No Austerity calls to join and participate in the different initiatives taking place, favoring the maximum unity between the trade union centers and the combative trade unions.

Participate in this campaign

January 10, 2014, the general secretariats of the CGIL, CISL, UIL signed together with the representatives of the Confindustria an agreement (Text about Unique Representation) that destroys trade union democracy in the private enterprises. It extends the “Marchionne” model, which is already in effect in the FIAT group, to all the private enterprises.

The Confindustria (now also Confcooperative), CGIL, CISL and UIL decided with this text that only the unions that “expressly, formally and wholly accept the contents of the present agreement” will be able to participate in the RSU (Unitary Union Representation) elections and to name a RSA (Enterprise Union Representation).

The unions that sign the agreement automatically loose the right go on strike and take on any combative union action! Actually, when a contract/agreement (local or national) is signed by 50% plus one of the RSU/RSA or by a working branch trade union, the signing unions and the RSU will not be able to organize further strikes, whether regarding a set of demands or of general union opposition against that contract/agreement.

The signing trade unions that organize actions against a contract/agreement that they have not approved could suffer economic sanctions (fines that can pass on to workers and trade union representatives too) and the suppression of important trade union rights. To top this: it will not be possible to organize protests or strikes during the negotiations!

We are dealing with an agreement that destroys liberty and the most basic rights, like the right to go on strike against an agreement over which there is no agreement!

We call the national trade union confederations, the trade unions by working branches, the trade union representatives, the organizations by enterprise and the individual workers or activists of all the trade unions to:

  1. Do not accept the blackmail and do not sign this agreement in any level (national, by working branch or enterprise).

  2. Support a counter-information campaign in every work place.

  3. Organize broad and unitary struggle initiatives in every city, promoting protest organizations in every city.

  4. Build a national mobilization until the agreement is withdrawn.
