Health of Palestinian Syrian activist Saleh Moed deteriorates

The Palestinian League for Human Rights – Syria (PLHR – Syria) received extremely worrying information about the continuous deteriorating health of prominent Palestinian Syrian activist Saleh Moed who is based currently in Athens, Greece since August 2014. 

Al Moed was injured on the 13th of December 2013 during the fulfillment of his duty as a paramedic at Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus, following a heavy artery shelling by the forces of Assad regime.

Earlier 2014, The German embassy in Beirut rejected a visa application presented by Al-Moed with the justification of being (stateless Palestinian from Syria) although Al-Moed received a spot for treatment at a German hospital. In his way to Greece, Saleh suffered from a compound lower leg fracture in addition a pelvic fracture and deteriorating psychological condition among other serious issues.Al Moed is married with four daughters.

Later this week, PLHR – Syria will issue a full statement about the case of Mr.Al Moed, and will establish several contacts with several organizations around the world to mount the pressure in order to find a solution; especially that Mr.Al Moed was doing his professional and humanitarian duty during his injury.
