We repudiate Niza’s attacks

A new terrorist attack, the third one in less than two years, hits France. In the middle of the celebration for the French National Holliday, at least 84 people were killed when being run over by a truck which headed against the crew at a high speed, in the Promenade des Anglais, Niza. Other dozens were injured. The French government affirms this is a “terrorist attack”. Despite no group took responsibility for the attack, it is possible this is another attack performed by ISIS, or at least sympathizers of it, in the frame of an increase of attacks matching the territorial retreat of the “Caliphate” this group founded in Middle East.

By the International Secretariat of IWL-FI.

From IWL we strongly condemn this attack and stand in solidarity with all the victims and families of the deceased.

Actions like this do not deserve but categorical rejection of the working and social movements, and all the parties that claim to be leftists. Although some try to justify this politically, the fact is these attacks are not led against the European governments, the true responsible ones for the austerity plans, the attacks to the working class, the pillaging and colonial wars in Middle East, but against the workers –many of the victims were children and immigrants-, who have no responsibility for the genocidal policies of the European and North American imperialism. On the contrary, those workers are also victims of them.

This attack is much more reactionary than the others, because of the political situation among which its performed. It has been months the organized working class, allied to other social sectors, is confronting the offensive of the “Socialist” Hollande, who aims to impose a new Labor Code to suppress historical achievements of the working class and precarious youth. It is posed to defeat this plan of attacks. The disposal to struggle is huge. The main obstacle still is the conciliatory, hesitant union bureaucracy, especially the CGT. In this context, this attack will certainly be used to try to defeat this historical struggle, while it favours a possible strengthening, although relative, of Hollande, and even extreme-right sectors, like the National Front.

In this regard, nationally speaking, this attack has served as an excuse for the imperialist government of Hollande to extend for another 3 months the “State of Emergency”, valid since Paris’ attacks, in November. This means more cut of basic democratic rights for the working class in France, whose cities are under “absolute surveillance” of more than 10 thousand militaries, according to the Gallic president himself.

At the same time, internationally speaking, it eases the French offensive –allied to the U.S, the U.K and Russia- in Iraq and Syria, standing from supporting Assad in power to suffocate the Syrian and regional revolution, in name of the “global fight” against the reactionary Islamic State.

From the IWL-FI, we emphasize the governments and the imperialism are responsible for the catastrophes we see in Middle East and the European borders. The cabinets of the EU are responsible for the growing misery and the layoffs in Europe. This attack, as the previous ones, will be used to take ahead a new repressive offensive against the workers struggling for their historical rights, and against the immigrants, the Muslims and the refugees.

Only the independent mobilization of the people and the oppressed ones, allied to the working class and the people of the European countries, will be capable of defeating ISIS and the imperialism, which promotes bloody wars to defend its petty interests.

We reject the attacks against innocent people! Islamic State Down!

Stop the State of Emergency of Hollande!

Down with the Labor Code reform of the French government and the EU!

No to French, U.S, U.K and Russia military intervention in Syria and Iraq!

For the victory of the Syrian Revolution, against Assad-Russia-Iran-Hezbollah, against the imperialism and the Islamic State!
