Let’s confront the murderer Peña Nieto! Let’s build a National Strike!

We repudiate the massacre of Nochixtlan, Oaxaca, and we call all movements and political organizations to help the wounded –who are being denied medical assistance in hospitals by Federal request-, and the families of the dead people. At the same time, we demand punishment for the murderer Peña Nieto as the main responsible of this aberrant massacre. For it, we count with the support of the International Workers’ League – Fourth International.

Today, the struggle in defense of the public education has become a struggle to all of us. It is a national cause. The mobilization of teachers continues to grow all around the country, as well as the popular support, despite the persecution and thousands of dismissals. The indignation grew among different social sectors when the government took Rubén Núñez and Francisco Villalobos, leaders of Section 22 in Oaxaca, as hostages. The massive demonstrations and actions of last week showed the freedom of the political prisoners and the reincorporation of all dismissed workers is an outcry for the entire country and the foreigner.

Peña Nieto aims to follow the orders of foreigner corporations he serves to, relying on the only thing he has left: the brutal repression through the Armed Forces. With the help of the governors participating of the Pact Against Mexico[1] they use civil war methods against their own people. The Federal Forces and the Navy went against unarmed teachers, parents and students. The 6 dead people and the hundreds of injured are a clear demonstration that this regime resembles more and more each time the most bloody dictatorships. They try to impose terror to break the teachers and the solidarity of the Mexican people. They murder as a resource to demoralize the movement, to then go for the rest: health, water, oil… This regime must fall to save the life of the Mexican people.

They shell not pass through! If the teachers get a victory, all of us will be victorious. We all must stop the genocidal repression, and not just the teachers. This is why we must unify the resistance against the repression of the regime and against all destructive “reforms”.

We need a National Strike to defeat the dictatorial turn of Peña Nieto and his criminal government; to stop the implementation of Peña Nieto’s reform to privatize education, and to block all other reforms he proposes.

In front of the massacre of Oaxaca, we cannot wait one more minute to coordinate a unified movement of struggles around the country: the CNTE’s, together with the parents; the parents of the 43 and the families of the thousand of “desaparecidos” [disappeared]; the IPN [National Polytechnic Institute] struggle; the struggle of nurses and doctors and health workers against “universal” privatization; the struggle of retired, workers and oil technicians against the pillaging and destruction of Pemex… all together against this murderer government, puppet of the U.S.

The CNTE [National Coordination of Education Workers] has become the natural organizer of a wide Encounter, to coordinate the active support of UNT [National Workers’ Union] through telemarketers, and STUNAM [Mexico National University Workers’ Union] leading the New Central, with the SME [Mexico Electricians’ Union] at the head. All forces of independent unions must join the struggle. From Chiapas to Sonora!

The demonstration of June 26th, voted by the Delegates’ National Meeting of the CNTE and the XXI Global Action for Ayotzinapa, and in defense of education, must be the first step in the construction of the National Strike, against the repression and the responsible ones, and in defense of Public Education.

Jail to those responsible of the massacre of Oaxaca!

Freedom for Núñez, Villalobos and all political prisoners!

Down with the education reform!

Fraternally,

GSO – Socialist Workers’ Group, Mexico.

Notes:

[1] Pacto por México – Pact for Mexico, national political agreement made by the President and several right-wing Mexican parties (PRI, PAN and PRD), signed on December 2nd, 2012, aiming to increase the control of the State over the social situation through the control of politics and economy, under the excuse of ‘deepening the democracy’. Known by the population as Pacto Contra México, that means “Pact Against Mexico”.
