 Today left us a comrade of many, many years. A great passion for the world, a whirl of love for class struggle. After years of constructing the old MAS, she accepted, in the 90´s, the challenge of making an experience in another country. With all her strength and resources, she went to Poland to build the International, living next to the convulsed East Processes that changed the world.

International Migrant Day: Against repression and xenophobia in Europe! No to imperialist intervention in Syria and Iraq!

 The European immigration crisis that began in mid-July is getting worse. There are 1.5 million refugees and many more will try to arrive in 2016. Governments are building more fences; Austria and Slovenia are fortifying their borders, and Frontex has announced the creation of a special force of 1500 agents to act in “emergencies” and racism and xenophobia rise. Governments are increasing restrictive laws (France and Belgium being the most severe) and the growth of far-right parties like the National Front in France is based on anti-immigrant and anti-refugee rhetoric.

Full support for the Palestinian struggle, towards a third Intifada

The historic resistance of the Palestinian people has been signaling, over the past few years, that it is escalating towards a new – the third - Intifada. The first one happened in 1987-1993, the second in 2000-2004. The trade unions, left-wing parties and the mass movement throughout the world must wholeheartedly support this struggle.

The Syrian civil war is approaching its fifth year. At this time, the fury with which the dictator Bashar al-Assad clings to power has simply destroyed the country. More than 250,000 people have died. Two million are wounded, including thousands of permanently disabled people.

Stop violence, stop oppression, stop exploitation against half of the humanity!

There were massive mobilizations in many countries around the world in 2015, expressing a resounding repudiation of violence against women. In the beginning of the year, a huge demonstration took place in Turkey, after the murder of a 20-year-old young woman who resisted raping. On June 3, in Argentina, more than half million people demonstrated in the streets under the slogan of “No one less,” against another murder of a 14-year-old girl, who was pregnant. Her body was found in the backyard of her boyfriend’s house.

On the attacks in Paris

France has lived one of its most dramatic nights in years. Terror took hold, as a series of suicide attacks, shooting rampage and mass hostages-taking were carried out at eight different locations in Paris, according to a partial recount. The death toll is at least 127 people and over 200 were injured, many of them in serious condition.

September 28: No more losses because of unsafe abortion! Demand immediate decriminalization!

The Day for Decriminalization of Abortion in Latin America and the Caribbean will be held on next September 28, as it has been done every year since 1990, with rallies and demonstrations in the sub-continent.
