Second day of the Trade Union International Meeting 

From Europe, Americas, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia, one at a time, the approximately 250 trade unions delegates from 32 countries started to crowd the auditorium of the Bourse du Travail of Saint Denis, a municipal building that houses all the regional sections of the French trade union centrals and the sites where collective use are shared by central trade unions, labor groups and the community.

The Trade Union International Meeting, which has among its organizers the CSP-Conlutas of Brazil and the Central Solidaires of France, started with a cheerful fellowship on Friday, March 23, in Saint-Denis, Paris.

This call has been issued by trade union organisations in Europe, Africa and America. Our international affiliations and non-affiliation are of the most diverse nature: members of the International Trade Union Confederation, members of the World Trade Union Federation, members of none of the above organisations, participating in diverse international trade union networks, etc. This call is addressed to all the trade unions that are identified as unionism of struggle, workers democracy, self-organisation of workers and the need for a social transformation.

The lessons of a glorious page in the labor movement

On the other hand, French socialism and its history of revolutions (from 1789 to 1793, from the 1830s to June 1848) was one of the three sources of Marx and Engels’ own elaboration (along with the English economy and German philosophy, that is, David Ricardo, Hegel and Feuerbach).
